My answer? I'm going to go traditional and choose Scrooge. I would love to talk personally with the famous miser and hear about his experiences with the ghosts and the lessons he learned. When some presidential candidates start sounding like the pre-redemption Ebenezer, it seems timely.
Tiny Tim. He has such great spirit!

I'd like to invite my own character, Jay, from Off Leash, my young 15 year-old teen and treat him to a great Xmas meal - one he's missed for 15 yrs because of his uncaring mother.
ReplyDeleteTiny Tim would be a wonderful dinner guest. So sweet and upbeat.
ReplyDeleteAs to Jay, I've just started reading Off Leash and I can see he would be a worthy christmas dinner guest.
Ingrid Magnussen (the mother) in Janet Fitch's WHITE OLEANDER. Even though she did a wicked thing, she's a fascinating character.
ReplyDeleteI would also choose Scrooge, hopefully the first part of the meal he would be the bad Scrooge and at the end of the meal he would have learned his lesson.

To K.E.: I'd have a hard time not calling Ingrid out during dinner so I probably couldn't have her as my guest. I don't like to be rude.
ReplyDeleteTo JoanneR: Good suggestion for Scrooge. Seeing both sides would be cool.
I'd love to chat with Elizabeth Bennet, from "Pride & Prejudice." We could talk about books, what it's like to crush on Mr. Darcy, and how she feels about fighting zombies. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love to talk to Harry Dresdan because I think he would definitely have some more great stories to tell!
ReplyDeleteAcheron from the Dark Hunters :)
ReplyDeleteflanagan@mebtel.net
I would love to invite the Mad Hatter. I think it would be a hoot!!! I'd also need Amelia Bedelia to clean up afterwards!
ReplyDeletedeanna_boocock@hotmail.com
I love that idea Athena... especially the zombies. P.R. Mason
ReplyDeleteNedraw: I love the Dresden books too. He would be a fascinating guest.
ReplyDeleteWanda: I'd be a little concerned that Acheron's mother would crash the party.
Deanna: The Mad Hatter would certainly cause a stir at any gathering. LOL.

Wow there are so many great characters that I have read about that i would love to have over for dinner, however I think I would really enjoy someone I look up to and is somewhat real or should I say did exist but her story has been made into fairy tales.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have Boudica over - she is an amazing person, a fierce warrior, and a true leader. A woman I truely admire and would love to be like. I would love to ask her how she truly felt towards the roman soldiers.
Merry Christmas

Which literary character would I have over for Christmas Lunch? I think I'd have to get someone like Atticus O'Sullivan from Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Trilogy. This is purely for the fact that he's been around for a few thousand years. Oh the stories he could tell.
ReplyDeleteWhat literary character would I have over for Christmas lunch? It would probably be Sherlock Holmes, a very complex individual for sure.

Jean: Sherlock would certainly be an interesting guest. No doubt he would analyze every nuance of the family dynamic.
ReplyDeleteFalcata:I haven't read the Druid Trilogy but you've intrigued me.
Ronda: Boudica would be an amazing guest to have. Perhaps she would have some advice for women of today.
Thanks for stopping by. P.R. Mason
Edgar Allen Poe was a great author and i think he would be doing things different for xmas

Interesting observation Desi. I think you are right.

I would like to invite Scrooge to dinner as well. It would be facsinating to speak with that character to really determine his thoughts. Love @PetietheCat
ReplyDeleteI would invite the grinch. Would love to hear about how he changed his ways! Tayentsminger@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi @PetietheCat I love that you agree with me on Scrooge. Smooches from Confucius Cat.
ReplyDeleteTaylor: I think the Grinch would be a fabulous guest...particularly if he would bring his cute dog with him.
P.R. Mason
Thanks for participating in the hop. Curran from the Kate Daniels series, apparently he can cook and he likes a lot of meat like me.

I'd invite Sherlock Holmes (yes, I'm on a kick again after seeing the movie;)
ReplyDeletekimberlyFDR@yahoo.com
I think I must be a very disturbed individual - I would invited my favorite werewolf crush, Daniel Kane (from The Heat by Heather Killough-Walden) before he met his mate, Lily. So he could spend the evening seducing me with his blue eyes, black hair, amazing body and alpha maleness. Oh yeah, I'm a slut, lol

I might just have to invite Stephanie Plum, just to see what would happen.
ReplyDeletekillary AT gmail DOT com
I would invite Elizabeth Bennett.
ReplyDeletesrbagby50@gmail.com
Hillary: Stephanie Plum would definitely cause a commotion I'm sure, particularly if Grandma Mazur crashed the party.
ReplyDeleteShelley B: I love the idea of inviting Elizabeth...particularly if she would bring Darcy with her.
J.D. Robb's(Nora Roberts) Roarke!! Mmmmm.......*sigh*.......what? Did someone say something? Sorry....got lost day dreaming of the possibilities!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to all!!
